Copilot after the hype: what Microsoft learned about making AI stick.

Most organisations have bought the Copilot licences. The launch went well. Then usage dropped. A closed-door roundtable for 10 to 20 HR, people and L&D leaders on what gets people using it again.

On the table

Copilot adoption, with Kojo Benko.

Kwadwo Benko (Kojo) has spent the last four years on Copilot adoption inside Microsoft UK. He watched the same dip happen internally, then helped run a pilot with around 500 customer-facing sellers to find out what actually builds the habit. Half followed the standard adoption route. Half went through a targeted programme built around their roles.

Kojo now sits in Microsoft’s Workforce Transformation team, formerly Customer Zero. He meets the EMEA HR leadership team every week, running reverse mentoring and team audits to take their workflows apart and rebuild them with AI.

His view: you can’t bolt AI onto how people already work. You redesign the work with the people who do it, and HR is where that starts.

How it runs

Four parts, no keynote.

01
Kojo's story

Five minutes on what happened inside Microsoft: the launch, the dip, and what got people using Copilot again. Mistakes included.

02
Fireside and Q&A

Alex opens with a question or two, then the room takes over. Ask Kojo what you'd ask a peer, not a vendor.

03
Breakout rooms

Groups of three or four, one question: what's helping your teams adopt AI, and what isn't.

04
Key takeaways

Every group shares one takeaway with the room, then it's open conversation.

AI in schools: what districts need from EdTech partners

  • Start with a learning problem or a teacher workload problem. Explain what changes in the classroom when your tool is used.
  • Help schools earn parent trust. Make the purpose, safeguards and use of student data clear before a rollout.
  • Plan for integration and staff training. A useful product still has to work alongside the systems a district already uses.
